What is tulsi?

Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is an ancient herb that is grown in parts of Northern India. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years to balance the body and mind. Tulsi is known as an adaptogen, which means it helps the body adapt to emotional and physical stress.

What does tulsi taste like?

The three varieties of tulsi we use have notes of peppermint, cloves, licorice or lemon. When blended together, they form a perfect harmony of these flavours that will calm your mind and soothe your soul.

Why tulsi?

We chose tulsi to be the base of our hand-crafted tea blends, because we see it as the antidote to the stress we encounter in modern life on a daily basis. Whether that means you’re looking for a boost of natural energy when you’re feeling exhausted or help winding down at night when your mind is racing, tulsi knows exactly what your body needs. We love tulsi and have experiences the benefits firsthand. So, we created an entire line of tulsi teas just for you!

Do your teas have caffeine?

Our teas are all caffeine-free. Tulsi is the main ingredient in our teas, which is naturally calming and uplifting. It is fine to consume our teas any time of day, as they won’t keep you awake at night. In fact, they may help you sleep very soundly.

What are the benefits of Lee’s Teas?

All of our tea blends are calming, stress-relieving, uplifting and balancing from the tulsi. They are also great for digestion, as they contain carminative herbs such as ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, fennel, and cloves.

What makes your teas Ayurveda-inspired?

The organic ingredients we use in our tea blends are ancient Ayurvedic herbs. Each of our tea blends is inspired by a different Ayurvedic dosha, or mind/body constitution. While our teas can be enjoyed by anyone, they each have unique properties that can balance various constitutions. Our Original Three Tulsi Tea is tridoshic, meaning it is balancing for all constitutions. Our Pink Chai tea is grounding, which balances vata dosha (air and ether element). Our Gold Rush tea is stimulating and invigorating, which balances kapha dosha (earth and water element). Lastly, our Mint Chill tea is cooling and soothing, which balances pitta dosha (fire element).

How do you brew Lee’s Tea?

To brew our loose-leaf teas, add 1 teaspoon of tea leaves to a mesh tea infuser or tea pot. Add 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 5 to 7 minutes.

To brew our teabags, add 1 teabag to a cup of boiling water. Steep for 5 to 7 minutes.

Where do you source your tea ingredients from?

Our tulsi teas are hand-crafted using organic ingredients from around the world. We searched long and hard for only the highest quality ingredients to use in our tea blends. All of the ingredients we use are certified organic to USDA organic standards.

How do you store Lee’s Tea?

Store in a cool, dry place for up to 1 year after opening.

What is the shelf life of Lee’s Tea?
